About Me
A Toronto-based writer and photojournalist, Jen Colenutt is always on the move. She has visited over 50 countries and counting! Jen had a rural upbringing in a small Southern Ontario town and the world seemed pretty small until she took her first trip to Germany at 17. A whole new world of culture and exploration opened up and from then on, she's been seen doing everything from reciting the alphabet with camel riders in the dunes of India to helping wash dishes at a local wedding on the remote island of Lombok, Indonesia. These have become "normal awe-inspiring events" in her everyday life.
Jen has a number of published travel stories under her belt, including Canoe, The Toronto Sun and the Huffington Post. Keen to keep her writing skills sharp and her growing audience updated she writes her travel blog - the unapologetic vegetarian - filling it with routes and tips for new nomads wanting to travel.
After a couple of life-altering trips to India and then Kenya, she has started raising money for a school/orphanage by hosting dinner parties that engage strangers in conversation. Interested in a sense of community in our modern world, she works with the world renowned Not Just Tourists Organization - a charity that provides medical supplies to travellers to deliver to charities at their destination.
She is also the co-founder of the Happiness Revolution, a movement aimed at helping people to find their road to the definition of happiness, collecting answers from people from all over the world.
